Time is of the essence whether you are fifteen years old or sixty-five years old. We are soon to enter the final month of 2019. Guys, can you believe we are forty-one days away from the new year? Having reflected a few weeks ago on the year I have had, it is safe to say the year has really flown by!
With so much going on in our day-to-day lives, if we are ambitious and driven people which I know we all are, it seems like there is never enough hours in the day to fully complete all our tasks at hand. With that being said, it is easy to feel overwhelmed, I know I sure have.
Personally, there are still a few goals I have set for myself that I am yet to achieve, pushing harder than ever to get them completed within certain time scales now that 2020 is looming. I am sure you have all heard the saying ‘Time waits for no man’. Is that not the truth? But if we stay focused and ensure we practise effective time management, nothing can stop us.
Even the “superman” can feel the burdens of their eagerness to be successful, and that is why I want to give you some tips on how to get things done when your workload goes from 0-100 real quick!
Make a to-do list
As primitive as that may sound, being able to visualise all your tasks instead of having them cooped into your head making you frustrated can be a very crucial step in lessening the stress. Make a to-do list for everything you would like to achieve prioritising them by numbering each task, the most important tasks get numbered first.
Make use of your downtime
Have a test coming up that you could do a little more review on? Have to get your cardio on at the gym? You can do both and use efficiency to the max. Be intuitive and do not let any opportunity to get things done get wasted away.
It is okay to utilise the “curve”
Why is it that conveniently friends always want to go out or do something when you have important things to do? It can look enticing and tempting, but do not give in!
Decide on what time during the day you are most productive
Are you are a morning person or do you work best in the middle of the night? For those tasks that require keen attention, find your happy hour and utilise that to get the most productivity.
Don’t let distractions get in your way
Facebook, ratchet TV, and what is trending on Twitter can all wait. You will have time to catch up on all your social engagements after. Knowing that the important things are done first makes the relaxation feel even better.
Sleeping is very important
As many or as little hours in a day, the ambitious always feel as if there are never enough and feel that skipping out on sleep can get them the time they may be missing out on. Contrary to this belief, how can you be at your best when fatigue is kicking your behind? Get some rest!
